Summer Trip to Tahoe

Hello everyone,

The forecast was warm and sunny and we all set off on a trip to Lake Tahoe for the weekend.

I was so eager to reach Tahoe(yeah.. it was a 3 hour drive) that I started screaming as soon as I got tired of playing with(or chewing) my toys.

Eventually we did get to Tahoe and it was very beautiful.

We rode the Gondola to the top of Heavenly and yes, the view was Heavenly from up there...

The warm weather made me crave for an ice-cream and I tried to communicate this to my parents. Slow that they are, they gave me more milk instead :-(

We even rode the jet-ski on the lake and it was a lot of fun.

Yeah OK... I might have edited myself into that picture but I could not go only because they did not have a life-jacket my size. I told them I was a champion swimmer but no one believed me... Maybe next time.

We went to Emerald Bay which was also very picteresque.

Finally it was time to head back home and I was not too happy about it.

But dont worry, I will be back here for the Ski season and give you more updates then.

Love

Its time to eat!!!

Hello All,

After drinking milk and only milk all my life, I finally had enough of it.

I decided to explore the culinary wonders of the world and my family decided to send me off in style.

We had my Annaprasana ceremony at home.

Pinni and Atta were there.

Pedda Tata, Pedda ammamma, Raja mavayya's family and Peda Nanna's family were here to give me a taste of the good life.

It was my official naming ceremony too(Naamakaranam). Although I will always be Diya, my official name is "Raja Vatsavai Venkata Lakshmi Sundara Diya" (Kids in my school will have a field day making fun of this one... so lets keep it our little secret).

I was given a chance to choose between a whole variety of items. Supposedly this is an indication of a person's likes in the future. I, of course, went for the gold first.

Then it was the pen and third the holy divine.

I ate Paramannam for the first time and I kinda liked it.

Now I am officially allowed to eat anything(which I later found out after discussing with my cousins that it means rice cereal only).

After all the excitement, I realized I am not a big fan of the cereal. I give Nanamma a hard time when she tries to feed me.

Now if someone can pass me that Pizza :-)

Love

Diya.

Change of Guard

After spending my first 4 months with Ammamma and Tata, it was time for me to say goodbye to them.

I missed them both very much for the first few days.

Soumya Atta came to cheer me up. I really like playing with her and we have good times at home when Mom and Dad are busy pretending to work. Soumya atta is very nice and does not complain when I pull her glasses or hair.

Then came Ninder Aunty... our Punjabi Nanny..

She sang me Loris(I liked "Lalla Lalla Lori" and laughed every time she sang it.)

But when she started talking in Punjabi, I gave her a deaf ear.

Ninder Aunty was more strict than Tata and Ammamma and she cut down on my TV time. Clever that I am, I watched TV with Soumya Atta instead.

Then Nannamma came from India and she was very happy to see me for the first time.

To celebrate Nannamma's arrival(and it was Father's day too) we all went out for dinner.

I gave Daddy this shirt for Father's day. He sure looks happy.

I am looking forward to having more great times with Nannamma at home.
See you all,

Diya.

Vegas Baby!!!

Hello All,

Continuing our travels we decided to test our luck and made a trip to the Sin City.

I love watching people and Vegas was the busiest I have seen so far...

I liked chilling out at the Bellagio.

Picked up a lot of compliments from passers-by at the Venetian....

I checked out what all the hype about Wynn was...

We went to Rainforest cafe for dinner but the spooky sounds freaked me out.

Ammamma, Tata and Pinni even went to watch the Grand Canyon. I passed as it was too hot.

I used my cute smile to sneak in to the casinos .... How much did I make?

Well... what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... right?

My trip to Hollywoodland - Part Two

Hello everyone,

Whats a trip to LA without a beauty contest? I entered myself in a baby contest when my family was busy sleeping. The judges were so impressed by my diaper consumption, they crowned me "Miss Diaper Queen 2008".

Enjoying my newly found celebrity status, the next day I was all decked up and ready for sunny San Diego.

We went to Seaworld to meet Shamu the whale. Shamu was pretty acrobatic and some of his tricks reminded me of my own back-flips that I do in bed.

I also enjoyed the dolphin show very much.

I think my family has finally gotten used to traveling with a celebrity like me. Notice how all of them wear dark glasses to disguise themselves?

When the rumor finally spread that there was a new celebrity in the park that day, people tried their best to find her. But I threw them off by pointing in the other direction.
After a close shave at the park, we went to Souju Pinni and Uma Shankar Babai's house. Souju Pinni was busy with her exams and I gave a her a few pointers for her course project.

Then it was time to meet the TROJANS. I heard a lot about them from Pinni and wanted to check them out for myself. We went for Pinni's graduation ceremony.

It was a proud moment for all of us.

I liked the trojan band and added my own chorus by screaming. They sent Pinni to stop me from stealing the show but it was to no avail(as Pinni's expression suggests).

Love,

Diya.
