Trip to Tahoe : Take 2

Hello All,

We decided to celebrate President's day by checking out the snow at Lake Tahoe.

I was dressed for the weather, although the mitts were a tad too big.

I was ready with my ample supply of health drink(aka Milk)

The weather was sunny and the snow was soft and wonderful.

I was very excited to play in the snow... As you can see I was not the only one being childish :-)

I went sledding at Heavenly but was more interested in posing for pictures than sledding by myself.

The next day we went for a drive to Emerald bay.

After the scenic drive, we came back to the hotel for some quality family time.

The snow covered patio right outside our vacation home was a great place to relax.

I loved being pulled in the sled all day....

Whats a snow vacation without a snowman! So we decided to build one.

I am tempted to say it was a joint effort but between us, my dad isnt that good at bulding a snowman.

So I had to do the heavy lifting once again and plan the whole project.

Finally the snowman turned out so good, I couldnt help but kiss it.

All in all, a great vacation!

I am sure I will come back to check out the slopes once again.

As to the traffic on our drive back... now thats a diferent story :-)

Until next time, take care all of you.

Lots of love,
Diya.

Mother's day

Hi All,
Now that I was old enough I wanted to make sure my dad does not ruin mother' day for my mom.
So under my able supervision we started preparing breakfast for Mom.
I decided on the menu and asked my helper to get all the ingredients together.

As expected he messed up with the eggs and I had to take control.
I finally managed to teach him to deal with the eggs and moved on to the table settings.

We made Special, vegetable cheese omelette with Jam and Toast.
For entertainment, we had a guitar recital by me :-)

Of course, ,my Mom loved the food.. But with the guitar, somehow it put her back to sleep.

Anyway, today seems to be a wonderful time to say a big "THANK YOU" to my Mom.
And I did that exactly with a photo book of my bext photos with Mom since I was born.
It will be a treasure for both of us..

Until next time, take care all of you guys.

Lots of love

Diya.

To scare or not to scare... that is the question.

Hello Everyone,

It was halloween and I had a dilemma.

Do I dress up in a cute costume or a scary one?

If you remember, I wore the cute pumpkin outfit last time.

Well after much thought, I decided to go the cute route one more time and dressed up as a ladybug.

I went to school in my costume and received quite a few compliments.

The trip to the mall was great for collecting candy.

None of the shopkeepers could resist my cute smile...

I met some friends there at the mall, who were dressed up pretty too...

I then went to meet my bride sister and pirate brother.... Nishi akka and Ritvik Anna.

Finally I came back home to enjoy my candy, thinking that it was a good decision to go with the cute outfit.... Until... this person walked through the door..

It scared me quite a bit as you can see from my expression...

Then I realized that it was none other than Pinni...

Huh... I cant believe she scared me. I decided I need to get back at her, so dear readers I am wearing a scary costume for next Halloween!

Now about the scary expression.... I am still working on it.

Love,

Diya.

Marathon Weekend

Hello All,

I have been practicing for it for quite some time now.

I trained long and hard for this day. My training included some unique stretching exercises.

I also included one-hand push-ups as part of my regimen.

Finally, the D-Day has arrived. I was participating in the first event of my athletic career, the "Silicon Valley Marathon Diaper Dash".

I scoped out the competition, which seemed fierce.

But I had trained hard for this and I was'nt going to get scared. So I came....

I crawled.....

And I conquered!!!! I was crowned the winner of "Silicon Valley Diaper Dash 2008".

I was overwhelmed with a sense of achievement as I celebrated with my family.

Earlier, Daddy finished his marathon too, so we had a double family treat. Check me pumping my fist in happiness.

Did someone ask "How many other kids were in my race?". I am sorry I can't hear you.....

Love
Diya.

Top-10 Hairstyles and Hair-dos

Hi everyone,

As you might have noticed, I am very fashion minded and believe that a good hair-do is an integral part of one's outfit. So here is a countdown of my best and worst hair-dos.

First up is Number 10, which I would like to call "Punk rocker hairstyle". This is how I look like when I cannot find the comb.

Next up is Number-9, the "Twin tails". Atta thinks I look like the Onida Monster in this.

Number-8 is my "Sardar Style". Oh Balle Balle...

Number -7 is the "Shower-head". Notice how my hair also curls up in the shower.

Number -6 is the "Yo-man" hairstyle. This is when I am in the mood to rap and belong in the hood.

Number-5 is the "Rabbi". I wear this one to impress upon all the Jewish boys in my neighbourhood.

Number-4 is the "Indian Ishtyle". Nicely oiled and neatly combed. Nannamma loves this hairstyle and insists I have it everyday. I go with it when I dont have to entertain guests.

Number-3 is what Mom calls "Shikari Shambu". I like this as it gives me the look of a hiker and is good for my evening walks.

Number-2 is the "Krishna-style". I like this one only because I can pull the band and play with it when no one is looking.

And finally... (drum roll please....) the winner is... the "Cutie style". This one is the best as its least work for my family and the hair does'nt fall in my eyes too much.

Hope you like my countdown and let me know which ones are your favourites.

More later.

Love
Diya.
